EETIBS - Educate on European topics at IB Schools
Educate on European topics at IB Schools (EETIB) is a project made up of a network of 5 international schools offering the international baccalaureate (IB) programme: 3 United World Colleges from Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands and 2 IB schools from Italy and Slovenia. The IB is a rigorous, two-year program that results in personal and academic development and, upon successful completion, a globally recognized high school diploma.
The project EETIB, through academic and extracurricular activities, aims to raise awareness among young people around the world on the EU's external action on various topics and to strengthen the implementation and exchange of teaching methodologies and information between teachers. The project will deal with issues such as migration, environmental sustainability, human rights and the rule of law, economic and social development, international security, international relations and diplomacy, peace and gender equality. Thanks to the dialogue between trainers, teachers, and students, the main outcomes of the project are: to involve teachers and students in debates and activities on the role of the EU in the world over classes and extracurricular activities; to strengthen the network between teachers, especially those of the IB’s Group 3 subjects (“Individuals and societies”); to develop ideas, methods and suggestions on how to best integrate EU issues into the IB programme. Thanks to the international environment, the main objective will be to analyze the EU in relation to the wider world. This implies on the one hand looking at the EU positions and action on global issues within multilateral institutions and, on the other hand, reflecting on its different impact in various policy areas according to the different level of competences, powers, and decision-making process of the EU.
